In order for a subframe connector to function properly, it must become an integrated unit with the existing subframe and ideally have minimal bends in it and maximum weld contact area with the existing frame and floor pan. This Dodge Challenger convertible 2x3 example welds at the front next to the torsion bar mounts and passes through the factory floor pan without affecting seat mounting points and continues through the sheet metal and into the existing rear unibody frame assembly. A subframe connector of inferior size and wall thickness will bend and distort excessively, nullifying any advantages that could be accrued from the installation. A much easier alternative to the substantial fabrication involved here is to utilize our bolt in (or weld in) subframe connectors located here.
